What is SEO?
Semantic Lever
Semantic aspects also play a key role: the quality and richness of the content, the architecture of your site, the structuring of the text, as well as a relevant use of keywords.
Technical Lever
Google evaluates several technical aspects of your site, such as loading speed, duplicate page handling, 404 error correction, and mobile compatibility.
Reputational Leverage
Semantic aspects also play a key role: the quality and richness of the content, the architecture of your site, the structuring of the text, as well as a relevant use of keywords.
Why is SEO crucial for your website?
With increasingly fierce competition on the Internet, it is becoming essential to stand out in search engines like Google. Good SEO helps attract qualified traffic, thus increasing your chances of conversion and customer loyalty.
The benefits of good SEO
-
Improved visibility: A site optimized for SEO appears higher in search results, which increases its visibility.
-
Increased traffic: Better positioning translates into more clicks and visits to the site.
-
Better user experience: A well-structured and fast site satisfies visitors, a criterion also taken into account by Google.
SEO: a long-term investment
Unlike paid advertising, SEO generates lasting results. It requires regular work to maintain a good positioning, but the effects are felt over time, without additional costs for each click.
The three pillars of SEO
SEO is based on three fundamental elements: content, technique, and popularity. Understanding and optimizing these three aspects is essential to a successful SEO strategy.
Optimized content: the basis of SEO
Quality content is the key to satisfying visitors and search engines. Relevant, informative and structured content will meet user expectations while integrating strategic keywords.
Technical optimization: facilitating indexing
A website must be technically optimized so that search engines can easily read it. This includes things like loading speed, mobile compatibility, and the use of structured HTML tags.
Popularity and backlinks
The popularity of a site is largely measured by the number and quality of incoming links, called backlinks. These links, coming from other sites, strengthen the authority of your site in the eyes of search engines.

Why is SEO so important?
Search engine positioning: a determining factor
Studies show that the majority of clicks go to the top positions of a search results page, especially the first three links. Each position brings a different share of traffic, influenced by user intent and the quality of the results displayed.
Positions 1 to 3: Traffic Champions
Position 1 : The first result typically receives between 30% and 40% of clicks because it is the first visible link and most likely to meet user expectations.
Position 2 : The second position gets between 15% and 20% of clicks. Although a little less attractive than the first, it remains in the field of vision of most users.
Position 3 : About 10% of clicks go to the third result, which is still a good click-through rate (CTR) to attract significant traffic.
Positions 4 to 10: a gradual decrease
For results between the fourth and tenth positions, the number of clicks decreases markedly. In fact, only 5 to 8% of clicks go to the fourth result, and this percentage continues to decrease for the following positions. At each position, you get about 50% of the clicks of the higher position...
The impact of the first page
Sites on the first page, even those at the bottom of the page, continue to receive traffic. However, the second page and beyond get an extremely low click-through rate (less than 1% of clicks on average).
How to calculate potential traffic for a given keyword?
Potential traffic depends not only on the site's position, but also on the keyword's search volume. Here's how to estimate the number of visitors based on position and search volume.
Step 1: Know the monthly search volume of the keyword
It is essential to have an estimate of the monthly search volume for the keyword. For example, if a keyword has 10,000 monthly searches, one can use this figure to estimate the visitor potential.
Step 2: Apply click rate based on position
By applying the average CTR for each position, we can obtain an estimate of the number of visitors:
Position 1: 10,000 x 0.40 = 4,000 visitors per month.
Position 2: 10,000 x 0.20 = 2,000 visitors per month.
Position 3: 10,000 x 0.10 = 1,000 visitors per month.
Limits and variations of CTR
These numbers are averages and may vary depending on search intent. For example, a transactional keyword (e.g., “buy shoes”) might generate more clicks than an informational keyword (e.g., “history of shoes”).
Why aim for the top positions?
Getting a top position for a key keyword can make a big difference in terms of visibility and traffic. This can represent thousands of additional visitors and significantly increase conversions.
